PRP Injections for Musculoskeletal Care

PRP supports tissue repair and collagen production using the patient’s own blood. Clarity Wellness Clinic prepares PRP with the Arthrex Angel System, a closed and sterile platform that produces high potency PRP commonly used in orthopaedic surgery centers. The system allows precise control of platelet concentration for joints, tendons and ligaments. This approach is more consistent than PRP made in generic spin tubes and helps match the product to the tissue being treated. Every injection is performed with real time ultrasound guidance on the Mindray TE5 for accurate placement and safety.

What PRP may help with

  • Ligament & tendon injuries (sprains, strains)

  • Soft tissue injuries (muscle tears)

  • Chronic joint pain, stiffness or degeneration

  • Accelerating recovery & time back to sport

  • Reducing inflammation & reigniting the immune system’s natural healing response

Our Approach

  • 1. Consultation

The first step is a dedicated visit that includes history, physical exam, and bedside musculoskeletal ultrasound. Any prior imaging and reports are reviewed. If PRP is appropriate, a procedure visit is scheduled. This is usually the following week. Same-day treatment is possible when timing and preparation allow.

  • 2. Procedure day and blood draw

Patients are booked in 45 minutes before their injection visit for a gentle blood draw to harvest their Platelet Rich Plasma. The blood draw takes about 5-10 minutes. The blood will then be placed into the Arthrex Angel centrifuge for around 30 minutes.

  • 3. PRP preparation

Using laser technology, the system separates platelets and sets the concentration to match the target tissue being treated. Preparation takes about 30 minutes and remains sealed in the closed system. Patients are free to go for a walk, grab a coffee, or observe the PRP prep process while waiting.

  • 4. Ultrasound guided injection

The area to be treated is prepared. Local anesthetic or a regional nerve block may be used when appropriate. Using the Mindray TE5, PRP is placed precisely where it is needed. The injection portion typically takes around 15 minutes depending on the number of regions treated.

  • 5. Aftercare and follow up

Soreness is common for one to three days as the repair response begins. Short term activity modification will be recommended. A complimentary ultrasound follow up is booked within four weeks to reassess progress and plan next steps. Most patients need 1-2 treatments separated by 2-3 months.
