Nerve Blocks & Hydrodissections

Ultrasound guided perineural injections are precise treatments that calm irritated nerves and release them from tight or compressed tissue pathways. These treatments help reduce radiating pain, numbness, tingling, and movement limitations caused by nerve irritation or entrapment. A gentle solution of 5 percent dextrose mixed with a small amount of local anesthetic is used to soothe the affected nerve. In some cases, a very low dose of corticosteroid may be added to further reduce inflammation. Every procedure is performed under real time ultrasound imaging with the Mindray TE5 to ensure accuracy and safety.

What this treatment may help with

  • Local nerve irritation and entrapment

  • Radiating or burning pain patterns

  • Headache and neck-related nerve pain

  • Numbness, tingling, or weakness from nerve irritation

  • Restricted movement due to tight fascial planes

Our Approach

  • 1. Consultation

Start with a consultation. The visit includes history, physical exam, bedside ultrasound, and review of any prior imaging. If indicated and time permits, one perineurial injection may be provided during the consultation. Otherwise a dedicated procedure visit is booked.

  • 2. Procedure day

This is one of the most gentle injection treatments we offer. The injection itself usually takes 15 to 30 minutes depending on the number of regions being treated.

  • 3. Aftercare and Plan

Most patients resume normal activity the next day. A short series is common. Many cases respond to one to three sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. Home exercises or physiotherapy may be added for better durability.
